What's really UP with the General's affair? My research reveals nothing too suspicious of so much scrutiny.
First off it's an affair that occurred between a man and a woman. Is this soooo unheard of? Of course not. Let's briefly examine his title then. He is a General oh sorry he was a General, in the United States Army. Question is, is he the first General to have had an affair? No. George Patton was the most famous General to have an affair. He had an affair with a niece on his wife's side of the family. Patton's wife found out and wrote a killing letter to this woman. For after reading it she put her head into a gas oven and killed herself. I wonder if David Petraeus will take George Patton's title?
The affair how did it occur? It was with his biographer Paula Broadwell who spent years getting to this know this man, was the inevitable bound to happen? Many suggest that it's not too far off target. That this too has happened often. But is it right and has it become something we must condone because our society values is ever changing. And more so, has the measure of how we rate those values diminished. Because oddly enough the two still remain with their married partners.
Ok so then why resign? Bill Clinton sure didn't when he propose to the world "I didn't have sexual relations with that woman". He actually lied to us and still is known as one of the greatest Presidents of this great nation.
You also would have to quickly ask were they trying to get caught? The affair revealed through emails. I mean who would save those? Reminds me of Tiger Woods with his mistress. Ending a voicemail with "this is Tiger". Sounds like technology has it's own language that we all understand well but then...I guess not well enough.
Who is Paula Broadwell without the affair title? According o the daily beast, she was high-school homecoming queen, attended West Point, competes in triathlons, received a master’s degree from the University of Denver, and worked toward a second one from Harvard. Well, yes, she was asked to leave Harvard’s doctoral program (resuming her studies at King’s College in London), but how many people do you know clever enough to be kicked out of America’s most prestigious university? And according to a report in Politico, Broadwall even considered running for Senate in North Carolina, an idea that Petraeus apparently mentored her out of.
Who is the retired General David Petraeus? According tonhis wikipedia he is a retired American military officer and public official. He served as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency from September 6, 2011,until his resignation on November 9, 2012.Prior to his assuming the directorship of the CIA, Petraeus was a highly decorated four-star general, serving over 37 years in the United States Army. His last assignments in the Army were as commander of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and Commander, U.S. Forces Afghanistan (USFOR-A) from July 4, 2010, to July 18, 2011. His other four-star assignments include serving as the 10th Commander, U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) from October 13, 2008, to June 30, 2010, and as Commanding General, Multi-National Force - Iraq (MNF-I) from February 10, 2007, to September 16, 2008.As commander of MNF-I, Petraeus oversaw all coalition forces in Iraq.
