Vent Session

How to Vent Successfullly 

Do the walls seem to be closing in? You may be feeling like your all alone but I’m here to tell you, you’re NOT! Social media has given us the scoop on people going the HELL off and guess what? So should you!!! Just be sure to know how to host a healthy vent session, so when your done  you actually feel better. 


Ask yourself this question: Do I really need to vent? 



If the answer is YES, proceed...

  1. WAIT: process the situation. Take a moment to breathe, the moment could pass & a vent session isn’t needed. IF so press on...
  2. WHY: practice not jumping to jumping to conclusions. Ask yourself why do I actually feel the way I do? 
  3. WHO: whose business was it anyway? Is this my problem or did someone actually help cause the issue? 
  4. WRITE: IF you find it's a YOU problem try writing it out and then stating it aloud. We can become more descriptive when we write. 
  5. WITNESS: IF you to need to vent to someone else, ask a trusted advisor of yours but set limits. Ask ”Can I talk to you for 5 mins” and keep it at 5 min.

Give yourself credit. You can become more successful at communicating if you admit first what you are willing to do and what you aren’t. Be up front and honest with yourself then with others! 
Keep these steps in safe-keeping for they definitely are transitional to the workplace, at the gym etc...
